Question: What is Reiki and how does it work?
Answer: Reiki is a Japanese healing technique that involves the transfer of universal life force energy through the hands of a trained practitioner. It promotes relaxation, stress reduction, and overall well-being by addressing imbalances in the body's energy system.
Reiki works by channeling healing energy to the recipient. The practitioner acts as a conduit, allowing the universal life force energy to flow through their hands to the client. This energy helps to balance and harmonize the recipient's energy centers, promoting physical, emotional, and spiritual healing.
Q. Am I supposed to feel anything?
During a Reiki session, individuals may or may not feel specific sensations. Sensations can vary from deep relaxation, warmth or heat, tingling or vibrations, emotional release, lightness or floating sensation, and enhanced clarity or insights. However, it's important to note that everyone's experience is unique, and not feeling these sensations does not indicate that the session is ineffective.
Q. What should I wear?
It is recommended to wear loose, comfortable clothing to promote relaxation and ease of movement.
Q. Is there anything I am supposed to do during the session?
A. During a Reiki session, your main role is to relax, be open to receiving the energy, and trust in the healing process. Clear your mind, focus on your breath, and be receptive to the energy. Release expectations, practice mindfulness, and communicate any feedback or concerns with the practitioner.
Q. How many sessions of Reiki are usually recommended?
A. The number of recommended Reiki sessions can vary depending on the individual and their specific goals or concerns. Some people find benefit from a single session, while others may benefit from a series of sessions scheduled over a period of time. Your practitioner can provide guidance based on your unique situation.
